Contracting Precision Iceblast Corporation to perform your ice blasting work is usually the most efficient and cost effective approach to ice blasting. Our system is a very high pressure (300 psi) which allows us to accomplish work much faster and more thorough than any other system. We can get a lot of work done in a short period of time. With our high pressure system we can also blast things that were never intended for ice blasting (bridges, ships, tanks, walls, ceilings, etc.). However, if what you need cleaned does not require high pressure (equipment, molds, dyes, etc.) and you need to ice blast on a very frequent basis, then buying your own blasting unit might be the best choice for you.
The PIC 56 is the most durable and simplistic ice blasting unit on the market. Our company developed this unit after years of experimenting with other units and working out the defects and problems that we encountered. The PIC 56 is completely pneumatic and is capable of blasting at high pressures (from 50 psi – 300 psi); however you will be limited by your compressor’s air. The PIC 56 is 32.5 inches tall, 28 inches long, 20 inches wide and the hopper holds approximately 80 pounds of ice (10 gallons). The system comes with the blasting unit, a twenty five foot section of blasting hose, a blasting gun, and fifty feet of one inch air line. Training by a PIC professional can be provided at an additional cost.
Advantages of the Model 56
Thank you for your interest in the PIC Model 56 ice blasting unit. The Model 56 is the most durable and easy to use ice blaster on the market. Precision Iceblast Corporation has designed the Model 56 to be very efficient and extremely user friendly. The Model 56 is an all pneumatic blasting unit that uses “High Density” Dry Ice Pellets to clean surfaces. Because the Model 56 is all pneumatic, there is no need for any electrical plug-ins or electrical power to run the Blasting Unit. The Model 56 is manufactured with a stainless steel shell which allows for long lasting durability and no rusting. It is also extremely portable weighing about 230 pounds and is small enough to fit through almost any doorway with its compact design (32 ˝ “tall, 28” long, and 20” wide). This machine is designed to blast at pressures between 20 to 300 psi which makes it one of the most versatile machines on the market. So whether you’re doing general cleaning or stripping of paint, the Model 56 can handle all of your needs.
The Model 56 has a very easy to use control panel with all of your controls conveniently located on the front of the machine for easy access. It comes with a Pressure Control Regulator, Ice control Regulator, System Control Regulator, Auger Control Switch, and an Emergency Stop Switch. Because of the simple and easy to use design, Precision Iceblast Corporation and its customers can quickly adapt to clean almost any kind of surfaces from computer chipboards to stripping paint from metal.
The Air Control Regulator controls your blast pressure when you are blasting. Turn the knob clockwise to raise the pressure and counter clockwise to lower the pressure.
The Ice Control Regulator controls the amount of dry ice pellets that you will use. Turn the knob clockwise to raise the rate of pellets used and counter clockwise to lower the rate of pellets used.
The System Control Regulator controls the amount of pressure that you have running through the machine.
The Auger Control Switch is used to turn the Auger on and off. This is used for draining your hopper of ice when you are finished blasting.
The Emergency Stop Button located on the front of the control panel, when pushed, will automatically shut off the air flow to the blast gun and prevent the unit from further blasting until the E-Stop valve is reset.
The Model 56 also has an 80 pound (10 Gallon) Hopper which will allow you to be able to blast for up to 20 to 30 minutes depending on how fast you’ve set your
Ice Control Regulator.
The Model 56 uses a specially designed blasting gun which allows for transfer of ice pellets and air through a 12” nozzle. The gun comes with a convenient handle and a safety mechanism on the trigger assembly to help prevent the gun from accidentally going off. The blasting gun is very easy to maneuver and can get into almost any place needed for cleaning. The Model 56 blasting gun is also cleverly designed to make blasting at high pressure easy and comfortable to perform over long periods of time without causing operator fatigue.
Blasting With Dry Ice
The Model 56 uses High Density Dry Ice Pellets. The temperature of the dry ice pellets are around -180° F. On impact, the kinetic energy of the pellets causes the dry ice to go from a solid state to a gaseous state expanding about 800 times its size and in the process the CO2 disappears leaving no surface residue or contamination. Ice Blasting provides the cleanest surface possible and most environmentally safe way to clean. The new technology of CO2 blasting is the modern alternative to chemical cleaning, sandblasting, water blasting, steam cleaning, manual scrubbing, scraping, and hand tooling, and is the most effective and efficient method of cleaning available today. CO2 blasting is typically much faster than these other methods so we save our customers a lot of time. Because of the reduced time frame, reduced labor costs, and reduced cost of material disposal, we also save our customers a lot of money.
What is the difference between the Model 56 and other Ice Blasting Units on the Market?
Precision Iceblast Corporation prides itself on the Model 56 being the most operator friendly and easy to use unit on the market. It is specially designed to be very simplistic and durable. Because of this simple and durable design, very few problems will occur over years of use. Precision Iceblast Corporation also designed this unit to need very little maintenance. If any maintenance is needed it is very simple and cost effective and the parts are very accessible. Most other ice blasting units on the market now require you to use electricity to run their machines. Precision Iceblast Corporation has found the need for electricity to be cumbersome, restrictive, and more problematic. The lack of the need for electricity allows the Model 56 to be more portable, simple, durable, and certainly much less problematic then other units.
